Valentine’s Day 2023: Pot au Feu, Red Stripe and More Great Restaurants to Try in Providence
Looking for a restaurant in Providence that will impress your date this Valentine’s Day? Here are three restaurants well worth checking out for Valentine’s Day 2023.
Red Stripe
Address: 465 Angell St, Providence
Located in Wayland Square and just minutes from Emblem 125, Red Stripe is an “American brasserie,” which is essentially a modern approach to the traditional European-style, French cafe. Here dishes like Grilled Swordfish, Lemon Rosemary ½ Chicken, and Duck Confit are cooked to perfection but if you’re coming for lunch, we highly recommend one of the salads, like Everything But The Kitchen Sink (gluten free) with a grilled salmon addition. Pot au Feu
Address: 44 Custom House St, Providence
If you really want to impress your date this Valentine’s Day, opt for the special champagne toast. Perhaps, it would be a good idea to warn your date, though, as the restaurant’s owner will soon arrive at your table to open the champagne not by hand but with the help of a sword.
That’s just one tradition at Pot Au Feu, which opened in 1972 and has been a city favorite ever since. But remember, Pot au Feu is “old school,” as the owners mention in a not so Yelpster-friendly warning. Learn more about Pot au Feu.
Joe Marzilli’s Old Canteen Italian Restaurant
Address: 120 Atwells Ave, Providence
Speaking of old school, if you thought Pot au Feu spurred nostalgia in Providence, visit Joe Marzilli’s Old Canteen Italian Restaurant where Joe has been serving the best Italian cuisine since 1956.
With dishes like Lobster Fra Diavolo, Boneless Chicken Saltimbocca, and Italian classics like Baked Lasagna and more. Learn more about Joe Marzilli’s Old Canteen Italian Restaurant.
